Your Motherhood Superpower is...
Boss Lady Power

When it comes to your children, you've had everything planned out, including their college savings account, since before they even came out of the birth canal. Schedules and meal plans are your besties.

You lead an active life and for the most part enjoy supporting your kids in their activities, whether it's driving them to practice or cheering them on from the sidelines. You know that these activities are important to keep them on track with their development and growth.

Your kids and partner count on you for everything, from knowing where they left their sneakers, to knowing who to call when they're struggling at school.

You excel at work and at home, delicately balancing your various responsibilities, and from the outside it looks like you do it all with ease. Your children know what you expect of them and life usually flows according to plan.

Except when it doesn't.

Sometimes you feel like you have too many plates spinning and if just one of them drops, everything will fall apart.

In those moments, when your kid is late for the bus, and you end up late too, you feel like you're going to completely lose it! You might look around at your mom-friends on social media and feel like everyone else is doing motherhood better than you.

I see you friend, you're busy — you juggle a hundred and one things, and sometimes it’s overwhelming. It's so important to give yourself grace when things don't go the way you plan... Not only will it make your life easier, but it'll show your kids what it means to be resilient.

When things don't go according to plan, get some perspective. Try stepping outside to change your view, take a few deep breaths, and ask yourself: will this matter 5 hours from now? 5 days from now? 5 years from now?

With perspective you can readjust your plan.

How to use your Boss Lady Power to uplevel your home...

1. Add Tasks that Promote Joy and Connection

I know that you value getting things done and with your Boss Lady Superpower, you'll always be badass at crossing things off your list.

Maximize your superpower by adding fun, meaningful activities to your to-do list and check them off when accomplished.

Add things like:

  • Be Present with kids
  • Turn off phone during dinner
  • Be romantic
  • Family activity outside
  • Play a game

Not only will you have the benefit of deeper relationships and more fun with your family, you'll also have the satisfaction of crossing them off the list once they're done.

Ahhhhh. Doesn't that feel good?

2. Schedule in Self-Care

One of the kindest things you can do for your kids, your partner, and yourself is regularly scheduling in self-care. Whether it’s a relaxing lavender-scented bath or a half an hour jogging, journaling, or being in nature, giving yourself space to clear out stagnant energy and revitalize yourself allows you to show up 100% with your family afterwards.

Use your master scheduling skills to put self-care on the calendar. Your family will thank you for it.

3. Stop comparing

Remember that perfection is an illusion. Never compare your messy, real life to other people's "picture perfect" posts on social media.

If you do find yourself comparing, make a list of 5-10 things you did well today and celebrate the heck out of your successes!
